Arrabar

Arrabar is one of the Five Kings Mountains’ smaller cities, established in the Southern most border of The Five Kings bordering Andoran. Arrabar was established after the dwarves abandoned the besieged dwarven city of Suldorok. After the last of Suldorok’s defenders starved to death in 2519, the forces of Khadune the Mighty (King of Suldorok) attempted to reclaim the city proper, only to find it swarming with undead. Rather than fight a protracted battle against an ever-renewing army of zombies, wights, and ghosts, Khadune directed his efforts toward walling off the city and clearing a much smaller area in the southern outskirts of the once-great city. This proved fateful as the masses of evil that dwelt in Suldorok broke through and the army of Khadune held them at bay so that the citizens could escape. Khadune and his army was lost and Soldorok was abandoned.

In the absence of rightful successors to the throne of Suldorok, the reinstated dwarves of Arrabar established a series of guilds, whose duties included overseeing the well-being of the settlement and its people. These guilds are now every bit as powerful as any lord. The guilds are, in turn, administered by the Court of Regents—a kind of “appointed nobility” who act as judges when disputes arise between guilds, or when anyone has a grievance that a guild cannot (or will not) address. The single most powerful guild in Arrabar is the Anvilers’ Guild, a powerful organization consisting of the leaders of several member guilds, all devoted to
crafts involving smithing—anything from weapons (guns) to clockwork and Automata. The guild employs hundreds of dwarven smiths, and regularly ships its wares to Highhelm—heavily guarded by well-paid Rolgrimmdur mercenaries—where they fetch high prices from the local merchants and are traded all over Golarion.

The most lucrative and notable Anvilers’ Guild Prince is Garrick Sledgeheart. Though his practices are questionable and many wonder if he is no better then a rogue his influence and favors are vast. Part of Garrick’s success is due to his vast information network that let’s him now almost everything going in the region. Garrick is thought of as a true information broker.
